The Comoros national team is nicknamed "Les Cœlacanthes", after the coelacanth, a rare, ancient fish that lives in the seas around the Comoro Islands.

• West Cove: A windy cove on the west coast where a little stream meets the sea, so river fish swim in beside the rays and sharks.

Size on the island: 100–200 cm.
