The symbol of Salernitana, from the Italian port of Salerno, is a seahorse (ippocampo). A seahorse called "Ippo" was also the club mascot.

• Lifebuoy Point: Beside the red lifebuoy on the western boardwalk. Shrimp love the warm shallows.

Size on the island: 8–18 cm.
