Make Room for Your Team
Spread into useful space so the player on the ball has another route.
What the coach says
- The left teammate is close to the defender. There is more room near the side.
- A wider position can open a new passing angle. Keep watching the ball.
- Move wider while the defender holds the old lane.
- The pass can reach the wide teammate. The team has more room to play.
- Give it back. The defender starts moving toward that left side.
- Look across the field. There is room for a teammate on the other side.
- The right teammate moves wide. You do not all need to gather around the ball.
- Pass into that room. Width helped because it changed the passing angle.
- After passing wide, the middle midfielder moves across behind the ball to offer a return angle.
