2-2: Keep Support Behind
Two pairs give width and depth; keep a supporting angle when a rear player advances.
What the coach says
- Two-two has two players behind and two ahead, plus the goalkeeper.
- The front pair stretches the court. The rear pair connects play and protects behind.
- The left rear player carries into open space.
- How can the right rear player support this advance?
- Move inside and remain behind the ball.
- Reset the pair while the ball stays with the left player.
- Pass across to the right rear player.
- The right player advances this time.
- What should the left rear player do in this changed picture?
- The left player moves inside as the deeper support.
- Two-two is a starting relationship. Players move with the game, rather than staying in four fixed squares.
