Carry or Pass?

Watch which route the defender leaves open.

What the coach says

  1. Your teammate is to the right. Watch the defender between you.
  2. The defender is staying in the passing lane. Look at the grass ahead.
  3. Carry into the space. Keep the ball close enough to change your mind.
  4. The defender comes across to stop you. Your teammate has room now.
  5. Look up before you run into the defender. You have another way forward.
  6. Pass to your teammate. Your carry made the defender choose.
