Quiz questions

Try to answer before you read the coach’s explanation. On the island you answer each one on the pitch.

  1. Question 1

    Which return route is available?

    • Pass back to the fixo
    • Pass into the left ala’s run

Coach’s explanation: The defender moved toward the pivot, leaving the outside runner available.

  2. Question 2

The outside return is covered. What is useful now?

    • Pass back to the fixo
    • Pass into the outside run

Coach’s explanation: The deeper fixo offers support. A wall pass is useful only when the return route is open.

  3. Question 3

True or false? The defender followed the ball, so the outside run is free.

    • False
    • True

Coach’s explanation: It's true: the defender went to the ball, so the runner is free outside.

  4. Question 4

The pivot laid the ball back to the fixo. What should the pivot do next?

    • Move across to offer a new lane
    • Run back toward the fixo
    • Stand still and watch the ball

Coach’s explanation: Moving across gives the fixo a fresh forward lane after the lay-off.

  5. Question 5

The right ala just passed to the pivot. Drag them to run for the return.

    • Run inside toward the ball
    • Run up the outside
    • Stay back and wide

Coach’s explanation: The defender followed the ball, so the outside run is free for the return pass.
