Two Attackers: Commit the Defender
Carry at the lone defender, then choose the route their movement leaves.
What the coach says
- Two attackers face the last defender while Blue’s wide players recover. Carry toward the middle while your teammate keeps a separate lane.
- The defender moves towards the ball. The right ala keeps width so one defender cannot cover both attackers.
- The defender has stepped towards you. Which route uses the spare attacker?
- The pass moves beyond the defender’s immediate reach. The passer supports behind the new ball carrier.
- Now the defender recovers into the square-pass lane. The right-hand channel ahead of the ball stays open.
- The defender covers the return pass. What uses the space that remains?
- Advance while the teammate stays available inside. The recovering defender must turn back towards goal.
