A sarcastic fringehead lives in an old shell or even a bottle, with only its head peeping out. When a rival comes close, it opens its mouth as wide as a flag, like a team showing its colours. This one has moved into a crack between the boulders.

On Futbol Island the sarcastic fringehead can be caught at:

• Boulder Cove: A rocky cove on Summit Isle’s far shore, piled with boulders, right round the coast from the sandbar. Shy animals shelter in the cracks between the rocks.

Size on the island: 10–30 cm.
