A reef squid can change colour in a blink, like a crowd turning their cards over. Platense from Argentina are "Los Calamares", the Squids. This one flashed every colour it had when it heard they won the league.

On Futbol Island the reef squid can be caught at:

• East Jetty Spiral: The outer curve of the spiral at the end of the East Jetty, out past the farmers market. Deeper water than the shore, so a tuna or an octopus sometimes swims by.

Size on the island: 15–38 cm.
