The red-lipped batfish looks like it is wearing lipstick, and it walks along the sand on its fins instead of swimming. It comes from the Galápagos Islands, part of Ecuador. This one walks to the touchline very slowly, like a player being substituted.
On Futbol Island the red-lipped batfish can be caught at:
- Seawall Gate Sands: A sandy bank just past the seawall gate, where the causeway leaves the main island. Shrimp dart about in the warm shallows, and an octopus hides in the seawall stones.
Size on the island: 15–25 cm.
