Fun fish fact: every winter, big shoals of mullet swim up Brazil's coast to Florianópolis to lay their eggs. Football: the Florianópolis club Avaí have a lion mascot, the "Leão da Ilha", Lion of the Island.

Mullet swim in big shoals that turn together, like a team pressing as one. Each winter they arrive at the island of Florianópolis in Brazil, home of Avaí and their lion mascot. This one swam all the way here for a training camp.

On Futbol Island the lebranche mullet can be caught at:

• Farm Beach: The sunny south beach below Coral Cay Farm. Cod and haddock nose along the sandy bottom, and the farmers swap fruit for the catch.

Size on the island: 30–60 cm.
