Fish tale

A shore crab always walks sideways, scuttling left and right along the seawall. England's Ray Wilkins was called "The Crab" for passing the ball sideways. This one can pass a pebble sideways too, but it has never once passed forwards.

Island story

On Futbol Island the green shore crab can be caught at:

  • Seawall Gate Sands: A sandy bank just past the seawall gate, where the causeway leaves the main island. Shrimp dart about in the warm shallows, and an octopus hides in the seawall stones.

Size on the island: 5–9 cm.
