A galjoen turns dark on rocks and silvery over sand, like a team with a home and an away kit. It is the national fish of South Africa, home of the team called Bafana Bafana. This one nibbles mussels off the rocks between matches.

• North Beach Rocks: Tide-pool rocks at the quiet end of North Beach. Octopuses hide in the cracks.
