Vanraure Hachinohe (Japan)

Vanraure Hachinohe, from the port city of Hachinohe in northern Japan, have a squid mascot called Vanta. His J.League profile says he was signed after being landed at Hachinohe port.

At night flying squid rise to the top of the sea, and some can even shoot out of the water and glide. Vanraure Hachinohe's mascot, Vanta, is a squid too. This one waves all ten arms at the floodlights.

On Futbol Island the flying squid can be caught at:

• Harbour Wall: The stone harbour wall behind the farmers market. Deep, cold water for cod and haddock.

Comes out at night.

Size on the island: 20–50 cm.
