Flying fish spread their long fins and glide over the waves, like a winger racing down the line. On the tiny Cocos Islands, a football team was even named after them. This one leaps out of the water every time someone scores.
On Futbol Island the flying fish can be caught at:
- South Pier Fishing Station: The old fishing station at the end of the South Pier. Mackerel shoals pass here.
Size on the island: 18–35 cm.
