A firefly squid is covered in tiny lights that glow blue, like a stadium lit up for a night match. Every year huge numbers of them gather in Toyama Bay in Japan, home of Kataller Toyama. This one flashes its lights to say hello.
On Futbol Island the firefly squid can be caught at:
- Deep Sea Boat: A little fishing boat moored far out in the deep blue bay, north of the East Jetty. Squid, marlin and stranger things swim far below.
- Summit Deep Boat: A second little fishing boat, moored in the deep channel west of Summit Isle. Green, deep water where tuna, sailfish and marlin hunt the bait balls.
Size on the island: 5–8 cm.
