Capelin are small fish that travel in enormous shoals, and some even jump right up onto beaches to lay their eggs. They come to the coast of Norway, the team that once beat Brazil at a World Cup. This one comes past the rocks at night with thousands of friends.
On Futbol Island the capelin can be caught at:
- Lookout Rocks: Four boulders set out like stepping stones along a straight stretch of beach, in sight of the island’s old lookout. Shoals of silvery fish pass close to shore here.
Comes out at night.
Size on the island: 12–20 cm.
