A bonefish is so silvery that it almost vanishes over the pale sand, which is why anglers call it the grey ghost. It loves the warm, shallow flats of Belize, home of the Jaguars. This one tiptoes across the bank like a winger trying to stay onside.
On Futbol Island the bonefish can be caught at:
- Turtle Bank: A wide sand bank on the last stretch to Coral Cay, looking out toward Turtle Sandbar. Clear, sandy shallows where young sharks cruise past.
Size on the island: 30–75 cm.
