A black scabbardfish is long, thin and shiny black, with big eyes for seeing in the deep. It stays down deep all day and swims up at night to hunt. On the island of Madeira, where it is a famous catch, even the airport is named after Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Futbol Island the black scabbardfish can be caught at:
- Deep Sea Boat: A little fishing boat moored far out in the deep blue bay, north of the East Jetty. Squid, marlin and stranger things swim far below.
- Summit Deep Boat: A second little fishing boat, moored in the deep channel west of Summit Isle. Green, deep water where tuna, sailfish and marlin hunt the bait balls.
Size on the island: 80–150 cm.
