A bigeye tuna has huge eyes so it can see in the dim water far below the waves. It dives deep by day and swims back up at dusk. In Ecuador, home of a giant tuna fleet, LDU Quito were the first club from their country to win South America's biggest cup.
On Futbol Island the bigeye tuna can be caught at:
- Deep Sea Boat: A little fishing boat moored far out in the deep blue bay, north of the East Jetty. Squid, marlin and stranger things swim far below.
- Summit Deep Boat: A second little fishing boat, moored in the deep channel west of Summit Isle. Green, deep water where tuna, sailfish and marlin hunt the bait balls.
Size on the island: 80–200 cm.
